...SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS POSSIBLE OVER THE REGION TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT... A STRONG LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE ACROSS THE OHIO RIVER VALLEY TODAY...WITH COLDER AIR MOVING INTO THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIAN REGION TONIGHT. RAIN WILL QUICKLY CHANGE TO SNOW IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS THIS EVENING...WITH SNOW GRADUALLY DEVELOPING IN THE VALLEYS TOWARDS SUNRISE ON MONDAY MORNING. RIGHT NOW...IT APPEARS THAT TEMPERATURES WILL HOVER IN THE MID TO UPPER 30S ACROSS THE VALLEYS ON MONDAY... WHICH WOULD LIMIT ANY POSSIBLE SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS. GROUND TEMPERATURES WILL ALSO REMAIN WARM...LIMITING ANY SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS IN THE VALLEYS TO ONLY AROUND AN INCH OR LESS. HOWEVER...SOME LIGHT SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE ON MONDAY ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS ABOVE 2500 FEET...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE OVER THE HIGHEST ELEVATIONS ABOVE 5000 FEET. PLEASE STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO...OR YOUR FAVORITE LOCAL RADIO OR TELEVISION STATION...FOR THE LATEST UPDATES AND FORECASTS ON THIS DEVELOPING WEATHER SITUATION.
